CHANDIGARH: Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh today laid the foundation stone for a Patient Lift at Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital, Sector-1, Panchkula. The lift will be installed at a cost of Rs. 73.31 lakh and is expected to be completed within six months. Lady Governor Smt. Mitra Ghosh was also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Governor directed the officers of the Public Works Department (PWD) to ensure that the lift is installed in accordance with prescribed norms and that the highest standards of quality are maintained. He specifically emphasised that every material used in the installation of the lift should be of high quality to ensure the safety and convenience of patients and their attendants.
Later, the Governor visited the Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital premises and reviewed the overall facilities being provided to patients and their attendants.
During his visit, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh interacted with patients and enquired about their well-being, treatment and the medical care facilities being provided by the hospital. He also directed the Director of the hospital to ensure adequate arrangements for fans for patients and their attendants waiting outside the OPDs, particularly keeping their comfort in mind.
The Governor visited the operation theatre and reviewed the new machines and equipment installed there. He also inspected the private rooms, waiting area, drinking water facilities for patients in the waiting area, washrooms for patients and their attendants and the electrotherapy room. He reviewed the overall facilities and arrangements available at the hospital.
Later, Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh and Lady Governor Smt. Mitra Ghosh planted saplings in the premises of the hospital under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and gave a message of environmental conservation.
Secretary to the Governor Sh. Vijaykumar Bhavikatti, ADC to the Governor Sqr. Ldr. P. Bharat, Director, Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital, Dr. V.K. Nagpal, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Satpal Sharma, DCP Panchkula Smt. Aditi Singh and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
