Chandigarh— The District Court in Chandigarh has issued notices to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan, and executives of Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited in connection with an alleged fraud complaint involving a Being Human Jewellery showroom. The judicial notice directs all named parties to submit their formal responses to the allegations raised by local businessman Arun Gupta, who claims significant financial losses stemming from a licensing agreement.
According to the complaint, Gupta invested approximately $₹3$ crore after entering an agreement with Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited—the licensee for Being Human Jewellery—alongside spending an additional $₹1$ crore to establish the showroom. Gupta alleges that despite fulfilling his contractual obligations, the company failed to provide promised commercial support and inventory supplies, leading to a shutdown of the supply outlet in February 2020 and severe operational disruptions.
Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited previously denied the allegations, stating that Salman Khan had no direct involvement in the 2018 commercial agreement and operated the venture independently under a brand licensing arrangement established with the Being Human Foundation in 2015. The court has scheduled the next hearing for October 5 to review the responses submitted by the respondents.
