New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to host a breakfast meeting at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, on Wednesday for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s newly inducted Rajya Sabha members in a first-of-its-kind interaction with the party’s latest entrants to the Upper House.
A total of 43 newly elected BJP Rajya Sabha MPs have been invited for the gathering. Among those attending are BJP president Nitin Nabin, Haryana BJP in-charge Satish Poonia, and several leaders who took oath during the most recent Rajya Sabha election cycle.
The meeting also includes seven former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha members from Punjab and Delhi who recently joined the BJP following their merger with the party. Prominent names among them are Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, Vikram Sahney, Swati Maliwal and Ashok Mittal.
According to sources, Prime Minister Modi is expected to hold individual interactions with many of the MPs during the breakfast session. The discussions are likely to focus on strengthening the party’s presence in key states, particularly Punjab, where Assembly elections are approaching.
Political observers believe the interaction reflects the BJP leadership’s effort to integrate its new parliamentary members into the party’s broader organisational and electoral strategy while seeking feedback on the evolving political landscape in Punjab. The meeting is also expected to provide an opportunity for the new MPs to discuss regional issues and their priorities with the Prime Minister.
