Chandigarh: Haryana’s Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that implementing the development announcements worth over Rs 700 crore made by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at the Gohana Vikas Rally is the government’s top priority.

The Cooperation Minister held a meeting with officers of various departments at the PWD Rest House in Gohana on Tuesday to review the progress of the Chief Minister’s announcements.

He not only sought details of the action taken so far from the officers but also took information on the current status of each announcement, the approval process, estimates, and the status of work commencement.

He told the officers in clear terms that the Chief Minister’s announcements should not remain confined to paper alone, but their benefits should reach the people in a time-bound manner. He said that unnecessary delay in development works would not be acceptable under any circumstances. If there is any obstruction at any level in the implementation of any announcement, officers should bring it to his notice without hesitation, so that it can be resolved immediately.

The meeting discussed in detail various development works in the Gohana region, including construction and improvement of roads, drinking water arrangements, construction of streets/lanes, and a stadium, among others. The Minister sought the actual status of each project from the officers of the concerned departments. He said that works related to basic amenities should be completed on a priority basis, as they are directly linked to the everyday needs of common people.
