Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday released the second instalment of the Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana, with financial assistance being directly transferred to the bank accounts of nearly 40 lakh women across the state.

Calling the scheme a significant step towards women’s financial empowerment, Mann said the initiative reflected the Punjab government’s commitment to fulfilling the promises made to the people. He added that the direct benefit transfer ensured eligible beneficiaries received the assistance without any intermediaries.

The Chief Minister said the second instalment had been credited to beneficiaries’ accounts as announced by the government. He described the scheme as an effort to strengthen the financial security of mothers and daughters while recognising their contribution to society.

Addressing beneficiaries, Mann said the people of Punjab had placed their trust in the Aam Aadmi Party government, and it was fulfilling its guarantees one by one. He said the transfer of funds to around 40 lakh women marked another promise delivered by the government.

Highlighting the state’s welfare approach, Mann said financial assistance under various schemes was being disbursed transparently through direct bank transfers, ensuring benefits reached every eligible recipient.

He reiterated that the Punjab government would continue introducing and implementing welfare measures aimed at improving the lives of people across different sections of society.

The release of the second instalment under the Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana is expected to benefit lakhs of women by providing direct financial support and promoting greater economic independence.
