Chandigarh: Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa on Tuesday held a meeting with representatives of various employees’ unions of the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Public Health Engineering Department at his office in the Haryana Civil Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of both departments, including Additional Chief Secretary, PWD (B&R), A.K. Singh, Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Pankaj Yadav, and other senior departmental officials.
During the interaction, the union representatives raised several issues concerning employees, including job security, promotions, fresh recruitment, rationalisation, filling of vacant posts, service-related matters and other administrative concerns. They also shared their suggestions for strengthening departmental functioning.
The Minister reviewed the issues in detail and directed officers to ensure the safety of employees engaged in sewer cleaning operations. He also stressed the need to maintain an uninterrupted supply of safe drinking water, improve the sewerage system, effectively address sewer blockage complaints, and enhance the overall efficiency of departmental services.
Ranbir Gangwa, while giving a patient hearing to the representatives, directed the officers concerned to examine all the issues and take appropriate action in accordance with the prescribed rules and procedures.
He reiterated that the Haryana Government is committed to safeguarding the interests of its employees while ensuring efficient and uninterrupted public services. He assured the representatives that all their demands and suggestions would be considered sympathetically and acted upon in accordance with departmental rules.
