New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced on Friday that its sit-in demonstration at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar will persist until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan steps down. The decision was reaffirmed shortly after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk formally ended his 26-day indefinite hunger strike following late-night discussions with Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh.

Expressing profound relief and gratitude, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke commended Wangchuk for his extraordinary courage and dedication. Dipke noted that Wangchuk’s sacrifice succeeded in stirring the nation’s conscience and drawing widespread attention to systemic failures within the national education system. While celebrating the end of the fast, Dipke emphasized that the activist’s life remains far too precious to be placed at further risk.

The youth-led movement has been staging protests at Jantar Mantar since last month over alleged paper leaks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The party is pressing the federal government for comprehensive examination reforms, strict anti-cheating accountability measures, and the immediate resignation of the Union Education Minister.

Although Wangchuk’s decision to conclude his fast after meeting with senior government officials marks the end of a pivotal chapter in the agitation, CJP leadership clarified that the party’s peaceful protest will remain active until its core demands are fulfilled.
