Himachal: The India Meteorological Department has forecast continued wet weather across Himachal Pradesh, prompting a yellow alert for several districts as rainfall activity is expected to remain active on Saturday. Residents have been advised to stay cautious as thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds may accompany showers in many parts of the state.

According to the Meteorological Centre, districts including Shimla, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba and Sirmaur are likely to witness intermittent rain and stormy conditions through the day. Authorities have urged people, particularly those living in vulnerable and hilly areas, to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense weather.

Despite the widespread rainfall forecast, temperatures are expected to remain largely stable, with no significant rise or fall in maximum or minimum readings. The prevailing weather system is likely to keep daytime conditions relatively comfortable compared to the recent spell of heat.

Among the recorded temperatures, Bilaspur and Paonta Sahib remained the warmer locations with minimum temperatures around 28°C and 27°C respectively, while hill stations continued to experience cooler weather. Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti emerged as the coldest place in the state, registering a minimum temperature of 6.5°C.

Weather officials have advised residents and tourists to monitor local forecasts and exercise caution in areas susceptible to landslides or waterlogging as rainfall activity is expected to continue over the coming days.
