Amritsar: In view of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) scheduled for June 21, 2026, the Amritsar district administration has imposed strict restrictions around all examination centres to ensure a peaceful, fair and smooth conduct of the examination.

District Magistrate Dalwinderjeet Singh issued orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, directing the enforcement of prohibitory measures across the city.

According to the order, all restrictions will remain in force on June 21 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, the duration of the examination.

The administration has prohibited the assembly of five or more persons within a 100-metre radius of all 11 examination centres in the district. The use of loudspeakers, sound amplification systems and any other noise-producing devices has also been strictly banned during this period.

District authorities have directed the Commissioner of Police (Amritsar City) and the Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural) to ensure strict compliance with the orders. Officials said adequate security arrangements have been put in place to maintain the integrity and transparency of the examination process.

The 11 designated centres include prominent institutions such as DAV Public School on Lawrence Road, Sagar International School of Eminence at Town Hall, Sagar Memorial School of Eminence at Mall Mandi, Government Senior Secondary School for Girls at Chheharta, School of Eminence at Khalsa College Public School campus, Army Public School in Amritsar Cantt, and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, among others.

The district administration has appealed to candidates, parents and the general public to extend full cooperation to ensure the smooth conduct of NEET-UG 2026. It warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the prohibitory orders.
