Gurdaspur: In a major breakthrough against cross-border and organized crime syndicates, the Gurdaspur Police dismantled an active interstate arms-smuggling racket and apprehended four key operatives. Following the arrests, police personnel seized a cache of illegal weaponry, including seven pistols—comprising one Glock pistol and six .30 caliber pistols—along with eight live magazines.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav shared details of the operation, stating that preliminary questioning uncovered significant international ties behind the illicit network. The arrested accused reportedly maintained backward linkages with an operative based in Dubai, while forward linkages led to a handler located in the United States who had instructed the gang members to retrieve and distribute the weapons.
Law enforcement authorities have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the seizure at the Kalanaur police station. Police teams are carrying out comprehensive investigations and technical surveillance to track down additional associates, trace the financing channels, and uncover the entire supply chain linking foreign handlers with domestic crime syndicates.
