New Delhi: India delivered a firm response at the United Nations after Pakistan and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) raised references concerning the country during proceedings, dismissing the allegations as unfounded and politically motivated.

Speaking on behalf of India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, First Secretary Anupama Singh exercised the country’s right of reply, asserting that New Delhi completely rejects what it described as false accusations made by Pakistan. She also objected to the OIC’s references to Jammu and Kashmir, maintaining that such comments have no basis.

The Indian representative alleged that Pakistan continues to use international platforms to divert attention from its own internal challenges and its record on terrorism. According to India’s statement, repeated attempts to raise such issues are aimed at creating misleading narratives rather than contributing to constructive dialogue.

India further criticised Pakistan’s use of the OIC platform, arguing that its role within the organisation is being exploited to advance political objectives instead of fostering genuine international cooperation. The remarks underscored New Delhi’s longstanding position that matters relating to Jammu and Kashmir are internal affairs and not open to external intervention.

The exchange reflects the continuing diplomatic differences between the two neighbours at multilateral forums, where both sides frequently counter each other’s statements on regional and security-related issues. India’s latest intervention reaffirmed its position that allegations lacking factual basis will continue to be challenged through established diplomatic channels.
