Faridkot: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three people, including two children, after a speeding car rammed into a motorcycle on the Ferozepur-Faridkot road on Thursday morning. Two others, a woman and a child, sustained serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital in Faridkot.
According to police, the accident occurred when a Swift car travelling towards Ferozepur allegedly crossed into the wrong lane and collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle rider and two children riding with him died on the spot.
The injured woman and child were rushed to the hospital by local residents and passersby. Hospital sources said both remain in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses claimed the car was moving at a very high speed and veered onto the wrong side of the road before striking the motorcycle. Locals also alleged that the ambulance took considerable time to reach the accident site, adding to the distress of those involved. Residents demanded strict action against those responsible and justice for the bereaved family.
DSP Investigation Avtar Singh, who reached the spot, confirmed that the collision involved a motorcycle and a Swift car. He said the deceased included the motorcycle rider and two children, while a woman and another child suffered serious injuries.
Police have seized the vehicle involved in the accident and initiated legal proceedings against the driver. The deceased rider has been identified as Gori, a resident of Chehl village.
Officials said the victim’s family has been informed and further investigation into the incident is underway.
