New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully facilitated the extradition of Prabhdeep Singh, a high-profile suspect and Red Notice subject, from Azerbaijan to India. Singh was wanted by the Delhi Police Special Cell in connection with a major narcotics trafficking case involving multiple arrests and the recovery of a substantial quantity of illicit substances. Identified by investigators as the alleged primary organiser behind the narcotics racket, his capture marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on organised drug networks. The operation was made possible through the publication of an INTERPOL Red Notice, which allowed international authorities to track and geo-locate Singh before his eventual apprehension by law enforcement in Azerbaijan.
Following a formal extradition request and the completion of necessary legal proceedings in Baku, a three-member escort team from the Delhi Police travelled to the Azerbaijani capital to take custody of the suspect. The team returned to the national capital with Singh today, effectively ending his period as a fugitive. This successful extradition highlights the increasing cooperation between Indian law enforcement agencies and their international counterparts in tackling cross-border crime and ensuring that individuals facing serious charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act are brought to justice.
