Preliminary findings suggest that the accused were in contact with handlers based abroad, including links to smugglers operating from Pakistan. Investigators believe the consignment was part of a larger network aimed at supplying drugs within Punjab and other parts of the country.
A case has been registered at the SSOC police station in Amritsar, and further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the network and identify additional operatives involved in the smuggling chain.
Senior officials reiterated that efforts are being intensified to curb drug trafficking and dismantle organised networks. The Punjab Police has maintained that it remains committed to tackling narco-related threats and ensuring law and order across the state.
