Delhi: A bomb threat sent via email sparked heightened security measures at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Thursday, just days after a separate security breach at the premises raised concerns.
According to officials, the threatening message warned of a possible suicide attack and contained provocative claims, prompting immediate action by law enforcement agencies. The situation was treated with urgency, leading to the deployment of bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units across the Assembly premises.
Teams conducted extensive checks inside the complex to ensure safety, while access to the area was closely monitored. No suspicious object was found during the initial search, officials said.
The Delhi Police has initiated a detailed investigation into the incident. Cyber experts are analysing the email’s origin, including technical data such as IP addresses and server routes, to identify the sender.
Authorities are also examining whether the threat was genuine or a hoax. The alert comes shortly after a recent breach in which an individual managed to enter the Assembly premises in a vehicle, further intensifying concerns over security arrangements.
Officials have assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to safeguard the परिसर, while investigations continue to determine the credibility and source of the threat.
