Navi Mumbai: An Indian-flagged vessel transporting a large consignment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has successfully reached Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority in Navi Mumbai, marking a significant development amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

According to officials, the vessel named Green Asha docked at the port carrying around 15,400 tonnes of LPG after navigating through the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz. The ship was received at a liquid cargo berth managed jointly by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

Port authorities highlighted that this is the first such arrival at the facility since tensions escalated in the Middle East region, making the transit particularly noteworthy. Despite the challenging geopolitical environment, the vessel completed its journey without incident.

Officials confirmed that the crew members, cargo, and the ship itself remained unharmed throughout the voyage. The successful docking is being seen as a positive sign for India’s energy supply chain, ensuring that essential fuel supplies continue uninterrupted.

Authorities also emphasized that the development reflects the resilience and efficiency of maritime operations, even under uncertain global conditions. As one of the country’s busiest ports, JNPA plays a crucial role in handling key imports, including energy resources vital for domestic consumption.
