Abohar: A tragic incident has come to light in Abohar where a young woman, identified as Geeta, allegedly ended her life by hanging in a private paying guest (PG) accommodation. The deceased, a resident of Arniwala in Fazilka district, had been living at Aneja PG located behind the local bus stand for approximately one year. According to the PG operator, Meenu Aneja, the victim was enrolled in a beauty parlour course at a local institute and was also employed in the city.
The incident was discovered late at night when a male acquaintance, identified by the PG management as a person Geeta had previously introduced to them, arrived at the facility around 1:00 AM claiming something was wrong. Upon checking her room, which was locked from the inside, they discovered her body through a window. The acquaintance reportedly entered the room, brought her down, and rushed her to the government hospital, where she was declared dead.
Police investigations led by Station City 1 In-charge Maninder Singh suggest that Geeta had recently changed her room within the PG just a week prior to the incident. Preliminary findings indicate a romantic involvement between the deceased and a local resident identified as Ravi, son of Jagdish Lal, residing in Balaji Colony, Abohar. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the extreme step and are looking into the nature of their relationship.
A formal case has been registered by the Abohar police, and several teams have been dispatched to locate and apprehend Ravi for questioning. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to confirm the exact cause of death. As the investigation continues, officials are recording statements from the PG staff and fellow residents to piece together the events leading up to the discovery of the body.
