Bathinda: In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the local political circles, Davinderpal Natt, the son of the late Congress leader Sukhraj Natt, died by suicide. Davinderpal reportedly took his own life by shooting himself with his .30 bore gun at his residence. Before taking the extreme step, he recorded a video in which he explicitly blamed a Zirakpur-based builder for his decision, alleging a massive financial fraud that left him in distress.

In the self-recorded video, Davinderpal alleged that the builder had defrauded him of ₹4 crore. He claimed that he had provided the substantial amount to the builder for a project or business dealing, but the individual refused to return the money despite repeated requests. The financial loss and the subsequent mental pressure are believed to be the primary reasons behind the act. The video has since been circulated on social media and is being treated as a crucial piece of evidence by the investigating authorities.

The local police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and have taken possession of the weapon and the mobile phone used to record the statement. While the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, a case is expected to be registered against the named builder for abetment to suicide and fraud. Davinderpal’s father, Sukhraj Natt, was a respected figure in the Congress party, and the news of his son’s untimely death has drawn condolences from various political leaders across Punjab.
