LOS ANGELES — A 30-year-old woman is in police custody following a brazen daylight shooting at the Beverly Hills residence of global superstar Rihanna on Sunday afternoon. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to emergency calls of an assault with a deadly weapon at approximately 1:15 p.m. on March 8, 2026. While the “Diamonds” singer was confirmed to be inside the property during the attack, authorities have reported no injuries to the artist or any other occupants.
Witnesses and police radio dispatch audio indicate that the suspect, who has not yet been publicly identified, parked a white Tesla across the street from the estate’s main gate. She allegedly discharged approximately seven to ten rounds from an AR-15-style rifle toward the mansion before speeding away from the scene. Aerial footage captured in the aftermath showed multiple bullet holes in the property’s security gate, and law enforcement sources confirmed that at least one high-velocity round pierced an exterior wall of the colonial-style home.
The suspect’s escape was short-lived, as LAPD officers tracked the vehicle to the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, located roughly eight miles from the crime scene. There, the woman was apprehended without further incident, and the high-powered rifle used in the shooting was recovered from the vehicle. The investigation has since been handed over to the LAPD’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division.
