Hyderabad – Authorities in Telangana have uncovered a harrowing case of sexual assault involving a 16-year-old girl who was allegedly targeted by a trio, including two minors. The incident, which took place in the Chengicherla area on the night of February 16, 2026, has led to a multi-agency investigation and the arrest of two suspects.
The case came to light after the victim’s mother filed a missing person’s report at the Narsingi Police Station on February 17, stating that her daughter had failed to return home from school. Following a rapid search operation, police successfully traced and rescued the teenager in Chengicherla on February 18.
Details of the Deception and Assault
Investigation reveals that the minor had initially met a 16-year-old boy while shopping in the Charminar area earlier this month. The two remained in contact via telephone and arranged a meeting on February 16.
According to police statements, the boy and two accomplices—one an adult with a significant criminal history and another minor—transported the girl to a residence in an auto-rickshaw. Once at the location, the suspects allegedly:
-
Used Force: Threatened the victim with a knife to ensure compliance.
-
Intoxication: Coerced the minor into consuming alcohol against her will.
-
Violence: Subjected the girl to both physical and sexual assault throughout the night.
Criminal Profiles and Police Action
One of the primary suspects apprehended is a known offender with a suspect sheet maintained against him. He reportedly has a history of at least eight prior criminal cases, including theft and robbery. While he and the minor who initially lured the victim are currently in custody, a third suspect—also a minor—remains at large.
The Narsingi police have launched a massive manhunt to locate the absconding individual. The victim is currently receiving medical and psychological support as the legal proceedings against the accused move forward.
