Srinagar: Flight services at Srinagar International Airport restarted on Wednesday morning after remaining suspended for a day due to fresh snowfall across Kashmir, officials confirmed.

According to airport authorities, the first aircraft touched down at around 9.25 am, marking the resumption of operations. Officials said flight movement is expected to continue normally through the day, provided weather conditions remain stable.

Earlier, the airport management announced that snow clearance work on the runway, taxiways and aircraft parking areas had been completed. Necessary inspections were carried out to ensure the airfield was safe for operations before allowing flights to resume.

While snowfall has eased, officials cautioned that visibility remains reduced in some areas due to haze. Airport and airline teams are keeping a close watch on weather conditions to avoid further disruptions.

Passengers have been advised to anticipate minor delays during the initial phase of resumed operations and to stay in regular contact with airlines for updated flight information.

All flights to and from Srinagar had been cancelled on Tuesday after snowfall affected runway conditions, leading to inconvenience for travellers. With improved weather and restored infrastructure, air connectivity to the Valley has now been gradually brought back on track.
