Punjab Government Declares School Holiday on January 27

Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Monday announced a holiday in all schools acrmoss the state on January 27, a day after Republic Day celebrations.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann while addressing the gathering at the state-level Republic Day function held in Hoshiarpur, where he unfurled the national flag.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister extended Republic Day greetings to the people of Punjab and highlighted the significance of the Constitution in strengthening democracy, equality and social justice in the country.

The declaration of the holiday was welcomed by students, parents and school authorities across the state. Official orders in this regard are expected to be issued by the education department.

Punjab, like the rest of the country, marked the 77th Republic Day with enthusiasm, commemorating the adoption of the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950.
