Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Government today dismissed 11 police personnel found involved in the illegal trade of Chitta, in line with its zero-tolerance policy against drugs. The dismissals were carried out under Article 311(2)(b) of the Constitution. The personnel included inspectors and constables from various battalions and departments across the state, all of whom were found linked to cases under the NDPS Act.

Presiding over a high-level meeting in Shimla, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that no one is above the law, and strict action will be taken against any government employee involved in drug-related activities. He emphasized that the police, entrusted with law enforcement, must act against chitta and other illegal drugs, and anyone found violating this trust will face the strictest consequences.

The Chief Minister also directed all departments to prepare reports on employees involved in drug trafficking and any properties acquired through illegal activities. The government has also announced attractive rewards for information related to Chitta syndicates, ranging from ₹10,000 for small recoveries to over ₹10 lakh for major seizures. Citizens have been urged to share information via the emergency number 112.
