Rajkot: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Sunday announced a major expansion of the company’s investment plans in Gujarat, stating that the conglomerate will double its commitment to the state over the next five years. Addressing the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra, Ambani said Reliance would increase its total investment in the state from ₹3.5 lakh crore to ₹7 lakh crore, generating large-scale employment and economic growth.
Ambani said Reliance is already the largest investor in Gujarat and reaffirmed the company’s deep-rooted connection with the state. He described Gujarat as central to Reliance’s identity and growth, calling it the “body, heart and soul” of the company. He added that the upcoming investments would create new livelihoods and wealth, benefiting not only Gujaratis but people across India.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ambani credited his leadership with transforming India’s global standing and restoring national confidence. Speaking in the presence of the Prime Minister, he said that India has witnessed unprecedented hope, self-belief and vibrancy during the current period. Ambani remarked that history would remember this era as the time when India moved from potential to performance and emerged as a global force.
Referring to global uncertainties and geopolitical challenges, Ambani said India remains well-protected due to strong leadership. He stated that the country’s stability and resilience act as a shield against external shocks, giving confidence to investors and citizens alike.
Ambani also announced support for the Prime Minister’s vision of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad. He said the Reliance Foundation would partner with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura, which would serve as a centre for training athletes and hosting national and international sporting events.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra on Sunday. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi were among the dignitaries present. Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister also participated in the Somnath Swabhiman Mahotsav Parv and offered prayers at the Somnath Temple.
