Fog Disrupts Rail Services: Ferozepur Division Cancels Eight Passenger Trains for Winter Months

Ferozepur: With dense fog expected to reduce visibility across Punjab during the winter season, the Ferozepur Division of Indian Railways has announced the temporary cancellation of eight passenger trains to ensure safe and uninterrupted operations.

Railway officials said the cancellations have been planned to prevent operational risks during peak fog hours. Train No. 74939 (Jalandhar City–Ferozepur Cantt) will remain cancelled from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, and its return service Train No. 74932 (Ferozepur Cantt–Jalandhar City) will not run between December 2, 2025 and March 1, 2026.

Train No. 74984 (Fazilka–Kotkapura) will stay off track from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, while Train No. 74981 (Kotkapura–Fazilka) has been cancelled from December 2, 2025 to March 1, 2026. Similarly, Train No. 74920 (Jalandhar City–Hoshiarpur) will be cancelled from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, and Train No. 74923 (Hoshiarpur–Jalandhar City) from December 2, 2025 to March 1, 2026.

Train No. 74987 (Bathinda–Fazilka) will remain suspended from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, with its reverse route Train No. 74986 (Fazilka–Bathinda) cancelled between December 2, 2025 and March 1, 2026.

Railway authorities have urged passengers to verify the status of their scheduled trains before travelling. Updates are available through Helpline 139, the NTES app, and the Indian Railways website.
