Delhi Woman Found Dead in Car After Violent Drunken Fight; Live-In Partner Arrested, Two Aides on the Run

New Delhi—A 44-year-old woman was killed at her Chhawla residence in southwest Delhi after a drunken altercation with her live-in partner, police said on Thursday. The accused, 35-year-old Virendra, allegedly pressed his elbow against her neck during the fight, resulting in her death. He later attempted to hide her body but was too intoxicated to drive away.

According to investigators, Virendra managed to carry the woman’s body to his car but, heavily drunk, failed to drive even 100 metres. He abandoned the attempt, returned home, continued drinking and eventually fell asleep. The incident came to light the next morning when a neighbour spotted the woman’s body inside the vehicle and alerted police.

A senior officer said the PCR call was received on November 26, after which a team reached the spot and found Virendra asleep inside the house. He was immediately taken into custody.

Police said Virendra, who is married with children, had been living with the woman for the past two years. Earlier, the woman owned a house in Palam, which the couple sold. Using that money, Virendra purchased a three-storey house in Chhawla under his own name in August this year. An additional ₹21 lakh from the property sale remained with him, and the money had become a frequent cause of arguments between the two.

On the intervening night of November 25 and 26, the couple was drinking when another dispute escalated into violence. Virendra, who works with a bus company, allegedly pinned the woman to the bed and throttled her with his elbow.

After realising she had died, he called two friends — one man and one woman — who helped him carry the body downstairs and place it in the car. The friends fled soon after, police said.

Efforts are underway to arrest both associates who assisted in moving the body. Virendra has been charged with murder, and further investigation is ongoing.
