Sangli, Maharashtra: The wedding of Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music director Palash Muchhal, which was scheduled to take place today in Maharashtra’s Sangli, has been postponed following a sudden deterioration in the health of Mandhana’s father. The update was confirmed by Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra.

Ahead of the wedding, the couple celebrated their pre-wedding functions at the Mandhana farmhouse on Samdoli Road in Sangli. Pictures and videos from the celebrations went viral on social media, especially a clip from the sangeet ceremony where Smriti performed a special dance for Palash. Her performance delighted guests and fans alike, drawing widespread admiration.

Family members, close friends, and several of Mandhana’s India teammates had gathered in Sangli for the celebrations. Photos of the beautifully decorated wedding venue had also circulated online, reflecting the excitement among fans waiting to see the couple tie the knot.

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal first met in 2019 through a mutual friend in Mumbai. Their friendship gradually blossomed into a relationship, which they kept private for several years. They publicly confirmed their relationship in 2024, and after nearly six years together, the two were preparing to get married.

A new wedding date will be announced once Mandhana’s father recovers.
