Srinagar: Security forces in Kashmir launched multiple raids on Sunday across three districts of the valley after receiving intelligence about terrorists allegedly misusing mobile SIM cards.
The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit, a specialized wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, carried out operations in Kulgam, Kunzer (Baramulla), and Shopian, officials confirmed.
During the raids, several SIM cards were recovered, though authorities stated that no arrests have been made so far. Officials emphasized that the operation is part of an ongoing investigation aimed at preventing anti-national elements from exploiting communication networks.
“CIK is actively pursuing leads related to the misuse of SIM cards by terrorists and is conducting searches at multiple locations,” an official said.
The unit, known for handling sensitive intelligence and counter-terror operations, continues to monitor developments closely as investigations progress.
Authorities have urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement during the searches and report any suspicious activities.
