Several startups from Singapore and Canada have shown a strong interest in exploring business opportunities in India, following discussions at the global pitch competition, EPIC 2025, organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP).

EPIC 2025, an annual platform that allows entrepreneurs to showcase innovative business ideas to investors and industry leaders, saw participation from over 1,200 startups representing more than 70 countries. Of these, 100 startups were shortlisted across three sectors: digital health technology, financial technology, and green technology. Two Indian startups also made it to the final selection.

The event serves as a global networking opportunity, connecting founders with investors, corporate partners, and potential markets. HKSTP Chairman Sunny Chai emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration, saying, “We are accelerating Hong Kong’s connectivity, helping ideas move and expand across borders.”

Brian Oh, founder and CEO of Singapore-based NEU Battery Materials, highlighted India as a key target for expansion. “Our priority is to scale our operations beyond Singapore. Battery recycling is a global issue, not limited to Singapore or Hong Kong. India presents a significant market opportunity where innovative solutions are gaining traction,” he said.

The participation of international startups underscores India’s growing appeal as a destination for technological innovation and investment, particularly in sustainability and green technologies.
