Hoshiarpur: In a major crackdown on organized crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in coordination with Hoshiarpur Police, arrested two alleged members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and recovered four pistols from their possession, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said on Friday.

The accused were identified as Swinder Singh alias Bodhi and Sukhman alias Jashan, both residents of Kalanaur in Gurdaspur district. Police also seized a motorcycle used by the duo.

According to the DGP, a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were operating under the directions of a foreign-based handler, Amrit Dalam, who is wanted in connection with a firing incident at a medical shop in Wadala Bangar, Kalanaur, targeting Dr. Hari Singh.

Additional DGP (AGTF) Promod Ban stated that the arrests were made near the T-Point close to Gurdwara Shri Garna Sahib at village Bodla, Dasuya, by a team led by DSP (AGTF) Jalandhar Range Jatinderjit Singh, with support from the local police.

Hoshiarpur SSP Sandeep Malik said both accused have prior criminal records, including cases of murder, kidnapping, and child trafficking. He added that further investigation is underway to trace the gang’s network and identify its associates and financiers.

A fresh case has been registered as FIR No. 229 dated November 6, 2025, under Section 25(6) of the Arms Act at Police Station Dasuya, Hoshiarpur.
