Chandigarh Police Sub-Inspector Dies Suddenly During Duty at Police Station

Chandigarh: A sub-inspector posted at a Chandigarh police station passed away suddenly on Wednesday. According to reports, the officer began experiencing severe breathing difficulties while on duty and was immediately rushed to GMCH-32 Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. His family was later called to the hospital, and police have begun further investigation after recording their statements.

The deceased has been identified as Sub-Inspector Kanwar Pal Rana, 59, who was serving as the Additional SHO at Mauli Jagran Police Station. Originally from Tadauli Beholpur village near Mohali, Rana lived there with his wife and two married sons, both employed in private jobs. He was set to retire next year at the age of 60.

Police officials said that around noon, Rana suddenly fell ill while on duty. When asked, he mentioned having trouble breathing. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but despite efforts, doctors could not save him.
