Canada: Canadian authorities have arrested three brothers of Indian origin in connection with a shooting linked to a dispute between rival tow-truck operators in Brampton, Ontario, while a fourth suspect remains on the run.

Peel Regional Police said the incident occurred late in the evening on October 7, when gunfire broke out during a confrontation between two competing groups in a parking area near McVean Drive and Castlemore Road. Officers responding to reports of shots fired found evidence of a violent clash. One individual was injured in the exchange, though police confirmed the wounds were not life-threatening.

Following several weeks of investigation, including the review of surveillance footage and other evidence, police identified three men connected to one of the groups involved. On November 20, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Caledon, where the three suspects were taken into custody.

The accused have been identified as brothers Manjot Bhatti, Navjot Bhatti and Amanjot Bhatti, all of whom are employed as truck drivers. Police said Manjot Bhatti is facing the most serious charges, including alleged reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, improper storage of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and occupying a vehicle while aware a firearm was present. He appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing and has since been released on bail.

Navjot Bhatti and Amanjot Bhatti have each been charged with knowingly travelling in a vehicle containing a firearm. Both were released under conditions and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

Investigators said the person seen firing the weapon during the altercation has not yet been identified. Police released video footage in an effort to locate the suspect, described as a South Asian man wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white athletic shoes at the time of the shooting.

Peel Regional Police said the investigation remains active and urged anyone with information about the incident or the outstanding suspect to come forward.
