Pakistan Airstrikes Reported in Multiple Afghan Cities Amid Rising Tensions

Kabul: Fresh tensions have erupted between Pakistan and Afghanistan after Afghan officials accused Pakistan of carrying out airstrikes in several locations across the country, including Kabul and Kandahar.

According to a spokesperson for the ruling Taliban administration, Pakistani forces targeted multiple areas during the strikes. One of the reported targets was a fuel storage facility belonging to Kam Air located near Kandahar International Airport.

The Taliban representative said bombs hit the airline’s fuel depot close to the airport in Kandahar, causing significant concern over the safety of civilian infrastructure in the region.

Authorities also claimed that explosions were reported in other parts of the country, including the capital city of Kabul. However, the extent of the damage and whether there were any casualties has not yet been confirmed.

The alleged strikes come as relations between the two neighbouring countries have deteriorated sharply in recent months, marking one of the most serious flare-ups between them in years.

Officials from Pakistan’s military have not issued an immediate response to the accusations, and there has been no official confirmation from Islamabad regarding the reported operations.

Analysts say the situation could further strain already fragile ties between the two countries, particularly amid ongoing security concerns along their shared border.
