Washington: US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, saying the United States will not hesitate to respond if Tehran fails to uphold any commitments emerging from the ongoing diplomatic process aimed at easing tensions over its nuclear programme.
Speaking at the White House, Trump emphasized that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains a non-negotiable objective for his administration. He stated that while diplomacy remains the preferred path, Washington is prepared to take additional measures if Iran deviates from agreed terms.
Trump’s remarks came shortly after the completion of a new round of technical discussions between American and Iranian representatives in Switzerland. The negotiations, which have drawn international attention, are viewed as a significant attempt to establish a framework for long-term regional stability and nuclear transparency.
