According to local authorities, the shooting took place around 5:37 p.m. on Saturday near the historic Old West End Festival, an annual event that attracts thousands of visitors. Police officers rushed to the scene after receiving several reports of gunfire, where panic-stricken festivalgoers were seen running for safety.
Investigators believe at least two gunmen were involved in the incident and may have been exchanging fire before several bystanders were struck. The suspects fled immediately after the shooting, and law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing leads to identify and locate them.
Medical officials said the victims range in age from 14 to 61 years. While most sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening, two victims suffered critical wounds and remain under intensive medical care.
