Ghazipur: Social media influencer Faizan Ansari has filed a defamation case worth Rs 100 crore against actress Khushi Mukherjee following her recent comments about Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav. The complaint, lodged at the Ghazipur police station on January 13, alleges that Mukherjee’s claims are false and could damage the cricketer’s reputation.
Mukherjee had stated in an interview that Suryakumar “used to message me a lot,” and also hinted that several cricketers had allegedly shown interest in her. She clarified that there was never a romantic relationship with the batter. Despite this, Ansari has approached the authorities, insisting the remarks were defamatory and made for publicity.
Speaking to reporters, Ansari said, “We want an FIR to be registered immediately against Khushi Mukherjee. I have requested strict action, including a jail term, as this is a matter of protecting the reputation of a national-level cricketer. I am not afraid and will pursue justice until it is achieved.”
Ansari, who travelled from Mumbai to Ghazipur to file the complaint, explained that his Rs 100 crore defamation suit aims to hold Mukherjee accountable for statements that could harm Suryakumar Yadav’s public image. “Earlier, we had also filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case against Poonam Pandey. Our legal team is strong and prepared to pursue this matter rigorously,” he added.
He further stressed that if Mukherjee can prove her claims, he is willing to acknowledge the mistake publicly. “Until then, every citizen should support Suryakumar Yadav. This appears to be a conspiracy to tarnish his reputation, and we will not let that happen,” Ansari said.
The case is likely to attract significant media attention given the high-profile nature of the individuals involved, and authorities have confirmed that the complaint is under investigation.
