Delhi: India continued to dominate with the bat on the second morning of the final Test against the West Indies, reaching 427 for four at lunch on Day 2. (IND vs WI 2nd Test 2025)
Resuming the day in a strong position, India significantly added to its overnight total. Still, it lost two key wickets during the morning session — opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who went on to score a superb 175, and middle-order batter Nitish Kumar Reddy, who contributed a steady 43 before being dismissed.
Jaiswal’s innings was marked by elegant strokeplay and remarkable patience, anchoring the top order before finally falling after a marathon knock. Reddy, coming in at No. 5, showed promise with a composed approach but couldn’t convert his start into a big score. (IND vs WI 2nd Test 2025)
At the lunch break, captain Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 75, showing positive intent and timing the ball well. He was joined at the crease by Dhruv Jurel, who was not out on 7, carefully negotiating the closing moments of the session.
