New Delhi: Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo reached yet another remarkable milestone by scoring his 950th career goal during Al-Nassr’s 2-0 victory over Al-Hazm at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Buraidah.
The Portuguese star found the net in the 88th minute, sealing Al-Nassr’s win and continuing his stunning form in the Saudi Pro League. With six goals in as many appearances, Ronaldo has helped his team maintain a perfect record this season, keeping them at the top of the table with 18 points — three ahead of Al-Taawoun and eight clear of defending champions Al-Ittihad.
Following the match, Ronaldo expressed his relentless ambition on Instagram, writing, “Happy to help the team win and to hit 950 goals! Always hungry for more!” The 39-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner has made no secret of his desire to reach 1,000 career goals, despite calls from his family to retire.
Earlier this month, while receiving the inaugural Prestige Award at the Portugal Football Globe, Ronaldo said, “People, especially my family, say, ‘It’s time to stop. You’ve done everything.’ But I don’t think so. I’m still helping my club and my national team — and why not keep going?”
Reflecting on his career, he admitted that his outlook has evolved with age: “Twenty years ago, I wanted to eat the world. Now I focus on enjoying each day, training session by training session, game by game.”
Ronaldo will next face former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema when Al-Nassr takes on Al-Ittihad in the Round of 16 of the King Cup of Champions on Tuesday.
