JALANDHAR — A devastating road accident claimed the life of a young man on Wednesday evening near the Lamba Pind Chowk flyover, sending shockwaves through the Guru Nanakpura neighbourhood. The victim, identified as Arun, was struck by a speeding car while travelling on his motorcycle, resulting in his immediate death at the scene due to the sheer force of the impact.

According to eyewitnesses present near the highway, a Hyundai Venue was travelling at a lethal speed, estimated to be around 130 kilometres per hour, when it collided with Arun’s bike. The collision was so violent that the young rider was reportedly launched 10 feet into the air before crashing onto the pavement. Local shopkeeper Manjit Kumar, who witnessed the tragedy unfold, stated that the car driver did not hesitate or slow down after the strike, choosing instead to flee the area instantly.

Police officials arrived at the location approximately one hour after the incident to take custody of the body and clear the wreckage from the busy flyover area. A formal investigation has been launched, with authorities focusing on scanning footage from various CCTV cameras installed near Lamba Pind Chowk and along the suspected escape route.

The Jalandhar police have assured the public that the vehicle is being tracked and the driver will be apprehended shortly. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been moved to the civil hospital for a post-mortem examination as his family in Guru Nanakpura mourns the untimely loss of the promising young man.
