Chandigarh: In a significant move linked to its ongoing investigations, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has taken into custody Harpreet Gulati, known to be a close aide of former state minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia.

Officials confirmed that Harpreet Gulati was picked up during a coordinated operation carried out by the Bureau’s team. Investigators allege that he played a key role in financial activities tied to several liquor businesses, including Akash Spriti, UV Enterprise, and AD Enterprise.

According to the Vigilance Bureau, Gulati was responsible for managing monetary transactions associated with these companies and allegedly acted as a conduit for property purchases made on behalf of Bikram Majithia in Shimla and Delhi.

Authorities say Gulati’s arrest marks an important step in uncovering the financial network linked to the case, and more arrests or summonses may follow as the inquiry progresses. Further investigation is currently underway.
