Two Police Personnel Killed in Firing Incident in Punjab’s Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur: Two members of the Punjab Police lost their lives in a shooting incident in Gurdaspur district on Sunday, triggering a high-level probe into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The deceased have been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ashok Kumar and Home Guard jawan Gurnam Singh. Both were posted at the same police outpost and were on duty in the area at the time of the incident.

According to initial information, the firing took place in Adia village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Dorangala police station. The two officers were reportedly shot and succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Aditya rushed to the village soon after receiving information about the incident.
