SAS Nagar— In a major breakthrough against organised crime, the SAS Nagar Police have busted an illegal weapon smuggling module, arresting four accused — Danveer, Bunty, Sikander Sheikh, and Krishan Kumar alias Happy Gujjar. Police recovered five pistols, two vehicles, and ₹2 lakh in cash from their possession.

According to officials, the prime accused Danveer is an associate of the Papla Gujjar gang, which is active across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Preliminary investigation revealed that Danveer and Bunty had come to deliver a consignment of weapons to Happy Gujjar and Sikander Sheikh when they were intercepted by the police.

An FIR has been registered at Police Station Sadar Kharar, SAS Nagar, and further investigation is underway to identify and trace the module’s backward and forward linkages. Police are also working to uncover the broader network involved in the illegal arms trade.

Authorities stated that this operation marks a significant step in dismantling organised criminal syndicates operating across state borders.

The Punjab Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens, vowing to continue their crackdown on illegal arms networks and gangster activities in the region.
