Mumbai – Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has expressed deep concern over the devastating floods that have ravaged Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.

Speaking during the latest episode of Bigg Boss 19, Salman highlighted the hardships faced by farmers and families who have lost homes and livelihoods due to relentless rains, floods, and landslides. “Our farmers, who provide us food, are now left without grains to eat and without homes to live in,” he told contestants, drawing attention to the scale of the tragedy.

Salman urged people across the country to step forward and help. Praising Punjab’s long-standing tradition of service, he said, “This community is known for generosity, for langar, for social service, for selflessness. For hundreds of years, they have fed people without discrimination. Now, when calamity has struck them, it is our duty to stand with them.”

The actor also acknowledged the contributions made by Punjabi artists and assured that efforts were underway from his side to support relief work.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Punjab’s Gurdaspur district on September 9 to review ongoing rescue and relief operations. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema confirmed that nearly 2,000 villages and more than four lakh people have been affected. He said 24 NDRF teams, two SDRF units, 144 boats, and a state government helicopter are engaged in relief efforts, with the Revenue Department releasing Rs 71 crore for immediate assistance.
