Sirhind: The Indian Railways has taken a major decision to facilitate pilgrims attending the Shaheedi Jor Mela at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, announcing special arrangements at Sirhind Railway Station. As part of the initiative, 14 trains will make scheduled halts at Sirhind for three days to accommodate the massive rush of devotees.
According to officials, all 14 trains will stop at Sirhind Railway Station for two minutes each between December 25 and December 27. The decision has been taken in view of the expected arrival of more than 50 lakh devotees during the three-day religious congregation.
To ensure smooth connectivity, transport arrangements have also been strengthened. Bus services will be available from Sirhind Railway Station to Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, allowing pilgrims to reach the shrine conveniently and without disruption.
The Shaheedi Jor Mela, held annually in memory of the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri, witnesses one of the largest religious gatherings in Punjab. Railway and district authorities have coordinated to manage the anticipated surge in passenger movement and maintain orderly travel during the event.
