Chandigarh: The Punjab government has terminated the services of Harjeet Singh, Director (Power Generation) at Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), following allegations of financial irregularities related to high fuel prices in state-run thermal power plants.

According to official orders, the decision was made after preliminary inquiries revealed mismanagement in financial operations that allegedly led to an increase in fuel costs and, consequently, higher operational expenses for the corporation.

This move comes shortly after the suspension of Chief Engineer Harish, who was in charge of the Ropar and Goindwal Sahib thermal power plants, on similar charges of misconduct and procedural lapses.
