Officials confirmed that Vikramjit Singh had been declared a proclaimed offender. He was wanted in an attempt to murder case registered at Police Station Jhabal, Tarn Taran, in March 2024, and had been on the run since then. His associate, Ajaypal alias Mota, had already been arrested in March 2025 after a brief encounter with the police.
Preliminary investigation reveals that both Vicky and Prince have an extensive criminal record, including cases related to attempted murder, snatching, the Arms Act, and the NDPS Act. Their arrest, police said, has also helped crack open several pending investigations.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab reiterated that the state police remains committed to dismantling gangster-terrorist networks operating from both within and outside the country. Further questioning of the accused is underway to identify their handlers and trace the larger network.
