Chandigarh: The Punjab government has once again revised school timings, announcing that schools across the state will resume operations as per the updated schedule from January 22. The decision was taken by the Punjab Education Department after reviewing weather conditions and student safety concerns.
Earlier, on January 15, the education department had revised school timings in view of dense fog and cold weather, allowing schools to function from 10 am to 3 pm to ensure the safety of students. With conditions improving, the department has now decided to return to a more regular schedule.
According to the latest orders, all government and private schools in Punjab will follow the revised winter schedule strictly to safeguard the health and well-being of students. Under the updated timings, primary schools will operate from 9 am to 3 pm, while middle, high and senior secondary schools will function from 9 am to 3.20 pm.
Education department officials stated that schools have been directed to implement the new timings without deviation. The revised schedule will remain in force until further instructions are issued by the department.
