Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in Hoshiarpur district, where an LPG tanker explosion late last night in Mandialan village claimed lives and left several injured.

Officials confirmed that the blast caused a major accident, resulting in multiple casualties. While exact numbers are still being verified, the loss of life and injuries have cast a pall of grief over the local community.

Extending his condolences, CM Mann said, “We pray for the peace of the departed souls and wish a speedy recovery to those who have been injured. The government stands with the affected families in this hour of grief.”

Relief Measures Announced

The Chief Minister also announced immediate financial aid of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. Additionally, he assured that free medical treatment will be provided to all those injured in the blast.

Local authorities, including the district administration and police, have been directed to provide every possible assistance to victims’ families and ensure proper medical care for the injured.

Investigation Underway

Preliminary reports suggest that the tanker was filled with LPG gas, and a sudden explosion triggered the mishap. A detailed investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the blast and to prevent such tragedies in the future.

The Punjab government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring safety measures in handling hazardous materials and to extending support to the affected communities.
