Patiala: Patiala Police have uncovered a significant terror module supported by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) with operational roots in Malaysia, following a major breakthrough in the Shambhu railway track blast investigation. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Patiala Range, Kuldeep Singh Chahal, announced during a press conference that the recent explosion was a calculated act of conspiracy orchestrated by overseas pro-Khalistan elements. The investigation confirmed that the individual found dead at the blast site was Jagroop Singh, a module member who had previously travelled to Malaysia in 2019. Evidence suggests Singh was killed instantly when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) he was attempting to plant on the tracks accidentally detonated.

In a coordinated crackdown, authorities arrested four suspects, including the alleged module leader, Deep Singh Khalsa, who has a prior criminal record in Mansa. Other detainees include Kulwinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, and Satnam Singh, the brother of the deceased Jagroop Singh. Police seized a substantial cache of weapons and explosives from the group, including an IED, detonators, a .31 bore pistol, and walkie-talkie sets. These items were reportedly intended for a series of coordinated attacks across Punjab aimed at disrupting regional peace and development under the direct guidance of Malaysian-based handlers working for the ISI.

DIG Chahal issued a stern warning to the youth of Punjab, urging them to resist the influence of foreign handlers who exploit local individuals for anti-national activities. Highlighting the tragic end of Jagroop Singh, who leaves behind two children, the DIG noted that overseas conspirators often secure their own families’ futures while leading local youth toward destruction. The police are continuing their search for a second individual believed to have been present at the blast site and expect further revelations as the arrested suspects undergo interrogation following their upcoming court appearance.
