Jalandhar: A massive fire broke out early Monday morning at the ‘Khana Khazana Vaishno Dhaba’ located on the 120 Feet Road in Jalandhar. Fortunately, the establishment was closed at the time of the incident, preventing any loss of life or injuries. However, the blaze completely destroyed the interior, including all furniture, kitchen equipment, and electronic appliances.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the fire. Eyewitnesses reported that the flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire structure within minutes. Local residents immediately alerted the fire brigade and the police, who arrived shortly thereafter to manage the situation.
Firefighters faced a challenging task in containing the inferno due to the density of flammable materials inside the kitchen. While the fire department eventually managed to extinguish the flames after a prolonged effort, the property suffered extensive damage. The dhaba owner is estimated to have incurred losses amounting to lakhs of rupees, with the building’s structural integrity also reportedly affected by the intense heat.
Local authorities and the fire department have launched a comprehensive probe to confirm the exact cause of the fire and to provide a precise assessment of the financial losses. For now, the situation remains under control, and the area has been cordoned off for further safety inspections.
